25th Anniversary

I believe God is always up to something new and something great. Twenty-five years ago the Northern Virginia Board of Missions sent Rev. Milton Marks to start a church in the Lake Ridge area of Woodbridge. While there were other United Methodist Congregations up and running in this area, the Annual Conference felt there were people in our area who were not connecting with God through Christ, and knew we had the potential to reach people and change lives. And the rest, as they say is history.
From small beginnings, as you have heard with our OBUM "then and now" presentations in worship recently, we have gone from meeting in schools, to two building programs, several worship adjustments, a number of ministerial moves and lots and lots of people coming and going. Are we where God wants us to be? Not yet, ever, for God is always up to something and changing us. As we come to worship on August 26th and celebrate 25 years of ministry, let us look to the present, what God might have in mind for us now and the next 25 years as well, for I know our community and its needs will be different. May Christ always be our constant, and may Holy Spirit continue to drive us forward. In Isaiah 43:18-19 we read, "But forget all that - it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland." (NLT) God is up to something great here at Old Bridge. Join us for an incredible adventure!
