Choirs (all ages)

There are many opportunities to worship God through music at OBUMC.  All of the Wednesday night music ministries would like to invite you to find a place in worship and fellowship through music.  Open to God's children from ages 3 to 100, check out the following opportunities and plan on joining us for some weekly excitement:

Cherub Choir:  Rehearses the last 10 minutes of Sunday School (10:35-10:45 am)
Cherub choir is designed for kids ages 3 through Kindergarten. We focus on traditional favorites, and each class includes story-time to introduce and reinforce Christian concepts and values presented in the lyrics.

Children's Choir: Rehearses the last 10 minutes of Sunday School (10:35-10:45 am)
Children's Choir is for children in grades 1 through 5.  We sing a blend of both contemporary and traditional-style worship pieces for performances on Sunday mornings.

Youth Choir: Wednesdays 5:45 pm (Room 105)
Open to middle school and senior high youth.  No singing experience is necessary - just a true desire to sing for joy and love of God.  We sing all kinds of songs - from hymns to praise style music.  We also sing in other languages, using music to explore other cultures and share them with the church.  Youth are encouraged to share their favorite songs with the group and we work together to come up with our own ideas.  We are also always looking for musicians to join us - string or wind instruments, as well as a pianist would be especially welcome.

Chime Choir: Thursdays 7:00 pm (Room 114)
Open to volunteers from 7th grade and older youths and adults.  Some note-reading knowledge and experience is needed, but the requirements are not extensive.  If you are interested, sign up in the Narthex.

Adult Choir: Wednesdays 7:30 - 9:00 pm (Room 106)
Adult Choir works on a delightfully rich blend of music every week. Age doesn't really matter when you get to adult choir, but a joyful attitude and a willingness to "belt it our" for the Lord is a must!  We look forward to seeing you there!
