Nursery & Childcare
Our goal is to provide safe, loving, and nurturing care for all children.
The OBUMC Nursery and it's staff (paid and volunteer are here during the 8:30 service, Sunday School, and 11:00 service. Little ones (toddlers) left for Sunday Schol will be taught on their level by one of our wonderful volunteers!
On Sundays, we have a paid staff member during all services and Sunday School. In addition, we have numerous volunteers to care for your child (birth through 2 years old). All of our volunteers, as well as paid staff, have had background checks completed which includes a multi-state sex offender check, as well as a criminal background check.
Want to have your child with you during the worship service? We have a crying room in the back of the Sanctuary that offers a more relaxed environment for you and your child while still being able to see and hear the worship service! There is a carpeted play area as well as some toys. You could even borrow a walker or other items from the nursery for use during the service.
The nursery also provides numerous amenities to those with little ones as well as nursing mothers. There are rockers for nursing mothers. There are rockers for nursing or calming a child in a semi-private area. We also have diapers, wipes, and other items in case of an "emergency."
We also provide child care (birth - 12 years old) for various church organizations and functions as requested by the church. Two weeks notice is required. Ministry leaders should contact Children's Ministries or the Nursery Coordinator.
We are always looking for loving volunteers - even if you don't have a child in the nursery. If you can donate your love and time for one hour a month, please contact:
