UM Women

Welcome to UMW at OBUMC!! We are a group of women of all ages who focus on Christian fellowship and mission.

UMW is:
FAITHFUL: it provides opportunities for you for spiritual growth and challenges you to practice your faith in personal and societal relationships
SUPPORTIVE: it offers Christian friendship and affirms the potential of every woman

UNIQUE: it has been organized for more than 138 years, spans the nation and world with local units of women gathered for mission, and assures ministries to women, children, and youth locally, nationally, and globally.
RESPONSIVE: it studies broad social issues and advocates legislation that affirms all human rights.
GLOBAL: it focuses on the mission outreach of the church and you will learn what is happening to people everywhere.

Our PURPOSE is:

to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

We currently have one very active small group fellowship called Books and Brunch, which is a book group which meets on the second Saturday of each month. Women of all ages are invited to suggest ideas for other small groups……a prayer group, a young woman group, a teen group, an older women's group, a mission study, a social action group....your ideas are needed and wanted! Come join us!
