OBUMC Youth | Mission and Purpose

OBUMC Youth's mission is to reach teens with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in an intentionally welcoming, safe, Christ-centered environment, striving to place God first in our lives.

OBUMC Youth meetings are a great place for hang-out time with friends, Biblically-relevant life discussions, fun activities, and semi-healthy snackage. We also have a time to pray about joys and concerns happening in the lives of the youth and leaders. 

Remember that friends are always welcome at OBUMC Youth meetings!

OBUMC Youth meetings are held in the Youth Room. Senior High (SHY) and Middle High (MHY) Youth groups meet separately for Check-In. Check-In is a time for each member of the group to speak a little about his or her week (or any other subject) while the group listens, followed by some discipleship questions, and a time of prayer. After Check-In, the group will come together for a time of worship, an activity, or some of those life- relevant biblical teachings mentioned above.

OBUMC Youth also participates in events offsite that include anything from Christian Rock concerts, to mission activities, fellowship opportunities, and Youth Conferences.
