What is MOPS?

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers.

The purpose of MOPS is to nurture every mother of a preschooler by meeting her distinct needs through the glory of Jesus Christ. It is a place for mothers to come together for encouragement and support. Women who are pregnant or who have children ages birth through kindergarten are welcome.

The first MOPS meeting of the 2009/2010 year was September 9, 2009.

When and where does MOPS meet?

The 2^nd and 4^th Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 pm, September – May. We meet at Old Bridge United Methodist Church, Room 113.

What can I expect if I come to MOPS?

First, you can expect a warm welcome! The theme verse for the 2009/2010 year is- Together on Planet Mom.

Matthew 18:20 says “Where two or three come together, in my Name, I am with them.”

The foundation of being on “Planet Mom” is that God is with us and we are created for relationship with Him and with each other. Each meeting we gather for fun, fellowship and refreshments. The MOPS format includes: Food and Fellowship, Teaching (from a Christian Perspective), Small Group Discussion and Creative Activities. During our meetings we do crafts and listen to a speaker who addresses issues pertaining to our roles as women, mothers and wives. Expect a great time!

What do I do with my children?

Bring them along! Childcare will be provided for FREE! Registration forms (as well as free childcare) will be available September at the first meeting.

Is there a cost involved?

Old Bridge UMC MOPS International membership is $23.95 a year (see below for benefits). If you cannot afford the dues for MOPS International, please do not let that keep you from coming. Scholarships are available when needed, or the amount can be paid monthly instead of all at once.

MOPS International has such a desire to meet the needs of moms they have created MOPS to MOM Connection.
